Quickstart

Run the server locally, set your API key, and call the API. Every example below works against the real product.

1. Start the server

pip install -r requirements.txt
python app.py

2. Set your API key

export INTAKESWIFT_API_KEY="your-key-here" # see .env.example

When the key is set, programmatic /api/* calls require an X-API-Key header. Full endpoint reference: OPENAPI.md in the repo.

3. Try it

Create an intake form

curl -s -X POST localhost:5000/api/forms -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "X-API-Key: $INTAKESWIFT_API_KEY" -d '{"template":"new_patient"}'

Add an appointment

curl -s -X POST localhost:5000/api/appointments -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "X-API-Key: $INTAKESWIFT_API_KEY" -d '{"patient":"Jane Doe","phone":"+15550002222","at":"2026-11-01 10:00"}'

Import a schedule (CSV)

curl -s -X POST localhost:5000/api/appointments/import -H "X-API-Key: $INTAKESWIFT_API_KEY" --data-binary @schedule.csv

Run the reminder engine

python -m reminder # dry-run: logs only. Add SMS_LIVE=1 + Twilio creds to send.
